Privacy policy

KCBuzz Media ("we," "us") runs kcbuzzmedia.com, @kcbuzzmedia and our student-run campus pages. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

• What you type into our forms: your name, email, Instagram handle, phone number, school, class year, and details about your event or business.
• Messages you send us by email or Instagram DM.
• Video and audio of people who agree to be filmed by our crew.

How we use it

We use your information only to reply to you, quote and deliver work, review crew applications and run our pages. We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails unless you ask for them.

Who else sees it

Form messages are delivered to us through a form service, such as Formspree, and our email provider. Videos we post are public on Instagram and TikTok, and those platforms' own privacy policies apply there.

Your choices

Email cj.cagle@kcbuzzmedia.com to see, fix or delete the information we have about you. We don't knowingly collect form information from anyone under 13.

By using this site or working with us, you agree to these terms.

Bookings

Every paid job is covered by a written quote. The quote lists the price, what you get and the deadline. If a quote and this page disagree, the quote wins. A 50% deposit holds your date. You can reschedule free with 48 hours' notice, and weather cancellations always reschedule free.

Using the videos

Clients can post, share and run the videos we deliver on their own accounts, including as paid ads. KCBuzz Media owns the original footage and may show finished videos in our portfolio. Raw footage is only included when the quote says so.

Paid partnerships

Any post a business pays for is labeled as a paid partnership, following FTC rules and each platform's branded-content tools.

What you send us

If you send us a question for the mic, an idea or a clip, you let us use it in our content without payment. Don't send anything you don't have the rights to.

Campus pages

Every KCBuzz campus page is owned by KCBuzz Media. Student crew members post as users of the page and must follow our playbook and these policies.

Not affiliated

KCBuzz Media is independent. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any university, team or athletic department, and school names are used only to say where we film.

The legal part

This site and our content are provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect damages from using the site. These terms are governed by the laws of Indiana. We may update this page, and the date at the top shows the latest version.

Filming & consent

• We ask before we feature anyone. If you say no, or change your mind on the spot, you're out of the shot.
• We film in public places and at events where the host has invited us. We follow venue, school and chapter rules.
• For fraternity, sorority and student org events, we keep alcohol, drugs and anything that breaks risk-management rules out of what we post.

Minors

• We don't interview or feature anyone we know or believe is under 18 without a parent or guardian there who agrees.
• If someone under 18 ends up clearly identifiable in the background, we crop, blur or cut them out before posting.
• Parents and guardians can ask us to remove any video of their child, and we'll take it down. See takedown requests.

Giveaway & trivia rules

These rules apply to any giveaway or prize trivia on our pages, unless a post lists different rules.

• No purchase necessary. Buying something never improves your chances.
• Who can enter: people 18 or older, or 13 to 17 with a parent present and agreeing, who live in the United States. KCBuzz crew and their households can't win.
• How to enter: as the post or the host on camera explains. On-camera trivia winners must answer correctly on camera.
• Prizes: as listed in the post. They can't be swapped for cash unless the prize is cash. A sponsor named in the post provides its prize.
• Winners: picked as the post describes and contacted by DM from @kcbuzzmedia only. We will never ask for a password or payment to claim a prize. Unclaimed prizes after 7 days may go to someone else.
• Platforms: these promotions are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Meta, TikTok or YouTube.
• Void where prohibited. Winners are responsible for any taxes on prizes.

Takedown requests

In one of our videos and want it gone? Email cj.cagle@kcbuzzmedia.com or DM @kcbuzzmedia with:

• the link to the post, and
• which person in the video is you (or your child).

We'll remove the video, or edit you out, within 2 business days. You don't have to give a reason. Copyright complaints go to the same email.
